MFM: Iambecomelife's Merchant Fleet Mod. Adds more that 70 new merchant classes to the game.

Flakmonkey's New Interiors. Adds everything but the torpedo rooms to the Type VII.
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=162631

Both are very resource-intensive. With my old single-core rig I had to choose between them and the St. Nazaire mod. I like the working locks for the harbors and canals, so I made my choice in that direction.

I had problems with this mod when i first installed it. It'd either CTD on start up or CTD as soon as i came into the game.

Then i installed the 4 gb patch and haven't had any problems with it at all. Start up takes a little longer but once in game it's as fluid and smooth as it should be.

You of course have to have 4 gig of ram if you're going to install the 4 gb patch...

It's a resource heavy mod so lesser spec machines might have a problem with it.

Yep, I have 4 gigs of RAM, but I also have a 32-bit XP system, and the 4-gig patch doesn't work for me. I've tried the 3-gig switch, but with no luck.

Ok, so here's one for you. I forgot to install the 4 gb patch, when I did my fresh re-install. I added GWX 3.0 and now I can't install the patch.

Here's where my problem comes in, on my Vista machine. Unlike before, I can't un-install the program using "add/remove programs" because SH III doesn't show up listed there now. (it did before this install).

When I go to my start menu and go to programs, there is an "uninstall SH III" folder, but when I click on that, the Installshield icon opens and it "runs" for a few seconds and then immediatetly closes.

How much Damage will I do to my system, or anything to just delete all files by sending them to the recycle bin.

Any suggestions?

I want to do yet another "clean" install, this time adding the patch before I start adding in all the mod's I wish to run.

I'm not sure if SH3 makes any registry changes...if so then you might still have a problem....you could try and simply delete the folder manually but if you still had problems then i'm thinking a re-format might be the only solution unless you're savvy at searching the registry and removing all associated entries.

Actually, i had all my mods installed including the merchant fleet mod before i applied the patch and i encountered no problems whatsoever

Hmm. I'm hoping someone has an answer for that, because I sure don't.

Always a good start.

The best thing is to load them with JSGME. That way you will be warned of potential conflicts and can remove mods that cause problems. Load them one at a time and then test each one before loading the next.

When I tried it said that "somehting I can't remember now" was changed (Due to GWX 3.0 ) and I got a message saying I couldn't install the patch because of it. strange.

I just got the game UN-installed using the disc in my drive, and have deleted the SH III folders I can find, except where I have my downloaded Mods on my desktop.

Time to start over and hopefully get this baby back up and working.

One thing i've just remembered. I run Win 7 and when i installed the 4 gb patch i clicked the "run as administrator" button to install it....don't know if this could be a help for you but for good order sake i feel i should mention it.

Good luck mate
