A Janeway? Oh no!

The Royal Navy has so few ships now they can't afford to lose the HMS Portland in the Delta Quadrant.

Don't forget the roles women got in TNG. The Enterprise-D had a women as Chief Medical Officer (twice), Chief of Security and in two episodes First Officer. Not to mention that most of the sane members of Starfleet Command shown were women (Stadi, and J.P. Hanson being the exceptions). plus a black women designed the Enterprise's engines.

So the Portland is going to wind up disappearing in the Bermuda Triangle then?

Some Starfleet officers would disagree on the sane part...
