There are no stupid questions, only stupidly written manuals...

Seriously, the manual is crap. If you've got any furniture that isn't level, then cut the pages out with the keyboard mapping (or use the quick reference guide) and use it to prop up the short leg.

Instead, go to here. and watch the videos. Start with the WernerSobe videos or Legions Noob Guide, then hit the Rockin' Robbin's videos (or just jump in with Rockin' Robbin's). Those will demonstrate Subsim's 'Industry Best Practices' for how to use the tools provided.

WernerSobe and Legion's videos, at least to me, struck me as (slightly) more concerned with the theory behind what you're doing. The Rockin' Robbin's videos are all about getting you started on your own artificial reef projects with the minimum of fuss and muss. They'll have you racking up tonnage from your first outing, guaranteed.
