NetBook?

All I can suggest is try an external monitor at that resolution and cross your fingers. Netbooks not renown for their gaming prowess even on old games.

You'll be surprised what my little "midget sub" can do. But I don't understand what you mean by "external monitor"?
EDIT: After a little more snooping on Steam support I found out it has something to do with resolution but as mentioned before my resolution does not go that high. Can anyone help?

An external monitor - a screen you can plug in to get a bigger picture (and greater resolution), off a desktop PC.

If there is the right connections on you 'midget sub' you should be alright - VGA: blue with lots of holes, DVI: white with lots of holes and a kind of cross shape at one side.
