My overthinking mind takes the names as a clue to thier roles.
Ezio and Altair were watchers. Connor is a hunter. Maybe we shall see a change from "finding out why" to "preventing the worst" (from seeing to hunting) Maybe Ubi will string it along for 10 more games, and my speculation is rubbish.
