OK, I played around with my graphics card settings and I now get a very nice spectacular halo with lens flare effect!

The main problem is really a mix between Nvidia control panel and nvidia inspector.
Have sure that you open nvidia control pannel and set the Antialiasing gama correction to off (even if it always is at off - do it again - for both Global settings and SH3). Then it must work. Anyway, for me is a surprise that the AA&Sun halo works for AA>4xmultisample. ![]()

One thing I am noticing now, and I don't know if it is my changes to the graphics settings or the mod, but with the Merchant Fleet Mod the smokestack smoke looks like a bunch of blotches of smoke rather than actual smoke.
