For your mods - you could try following the mods I have listed in this thread. They are in the correct order and safe to overwrite. In fact some of them are ment to be overwritten

To get your crew inside - I am guessing you are getting the message "can't dive, crew onboard" or something like that.
This means you. So you have to go inside the boat before diving and the crew will follow (it you have mighty fine crew).
