You would think so, but no. lol I'm a U.S. Navy vet, and currently a Able Seaman. Relieve the watch takes place for all 15 minutes before the hour of watch. When I want to relieve the watch early, and it's usually because I'm just bored, I'll do it at 1935 for the 8-12, 20-24 watch. ( In which case the other AB will say, "Mate, I've been relieved. Steering course 270 in "Iron Mike", checking course 275. No threating traffic. Have a good watch! And oh, by the way, is there any more of that pumpkin pie left?" ) Anyway, I just thought it would be cool to have "Relieve The Watch" take place on time. (Maybe I've been at sea too long...) |
