A bad save perhaps or are you starting a new patrol from port?

Any issues with other apps or is it just SH3? If others are effected, it could be a RAM stick - in which case I'd run a memory test.

I had that problem. Never knew what it was, until the computer died.
New RAM stick, and no problems (so far).

I had the same problem around patrol 24, and it was acting like a RAM problem. Each of the 3 saves for that patrol was crashing after the "Not So Long Ago..." screen. I had to start that patrol over completely, and that file had issues too, but would play. I think those problems had to do with not rolling back sh3 after the crashes from the other saves.

Once I restarted the patrol, had no problems.

Upgrade the office pc! Nothing beats SH3 at the office.
