Just not right and i'm well pee'd off!
Hi all, Well i got into patrol 27 of a quite fruitful career, all the way to patrol 27 all of a sudden im getting the dreaded 'encountered a problem, program will be closed' box, Ive system restored back a week, Ive been very careful not to allow any updates etc. Im very peeved and wondering if anyones got any ideas.
Im running Vista, and game was SH3 GWX 3.0 Via SH3 Commander IXD/2, flotilla 10 |
PS.
ps. It lets me get all the way through both loading screens and always crashes at the 'Not so long ago..'
|
A bad save perhaps or are you starting a new patrol from port?

no was halfway through patrol 27 and rolled back pc a week which took me back to patrol 21, same thing. Its definately a graphics/driver issue just cant see how, perplexing.

New RAM stick, and no problems (so far). |
I had the same problem around patrol 24, and it was acting like a RAM problem. Each of the 3 saves for that patrol was crashing after the "Not So Long Ago..." screen. I had to start that patrol over completely, and that file had issues too, but would play. I think those problems had to do with not rolling back sh3 after the crashes from the other saves.
Once I restarted the patrol, had no problems. |

Had to re-image the whole pc and start again, time for a more game friendly pc i think :( . using a crappy home/office pc at the moment.

:DUpgrade the office pc! Nothing beats SH3 at the office. :salute: Woolfman |
Found the problem
Wasnt SH3 or GWX or Commander, PC was in its death throes and is now (welcomly) departed, building me own :D

Glad you found the cause,..that is disheartening to any U boat Kaptain.

On the other hand 27 patrols is roughly four times as many as any real-life commander did.
