We'd prefer to be spontaneous, but my wife has surgeries scheduled many weeks out. We want to go someplace for at least a week (Hawaii?) but have not decided yet. We'll certainly do several long weekend type trips closer to home (Colorado, maybe San Francisco again, etc).

We might make home more appealing in the heat by adding a pool (which might be non-trivial given the fact we're on a bit of a slope).

Me and the Frau are moving to a new apartment - that's how we'll spend most of the summer: packing, carrying boxes, painting, etc...

If we both have some time left, we'll do a spontaneous trip, probably to Northern Europe. Either we will raid Vendor's country and be in the outdoors or we'll do a city trip, Copenhagen and Helsinki are still on our list. Maybe a combination of both, depending on how much need for recreation we have.

You are welcome many of your countrymen, has a "decent" time liked Sweden that you know ..... and here it is beautiful in many cases, with both warmth and closeness to the sea and nature,

Meteorite hunting for a 1946 fairly well documented Meteorite.
the plan is to hunt in the day, camp over a few days and Catch
the Orionid meteor shower in October (21st) , assuming clear skies.

Vendor, if you reach Slovenia, let me know. Stop by in Bled or Ljubljana I'll give you a tour

Me, I'll be going to Portoroz almost every week, I do study there so I'll see the seaside quite often. Take a swim or two after tests

I think the Frau (Berbunch, not Kaluen) and I are just going to do a long-weekend city break, whether or not we'll drag the kids along is another matter!

Thinking of York as it's not a million miles to travel, and is still very nice.

Would love to go to the Lakes for the umpteenth time (bar last year - Herefordshire!) but the Frau, despite what she says, really doesn't like either rain, or walking far!

Have just glanced at couchsurfing.org, and it looks great, would love to just grab a flight and kip on a couch!

But again, the Frau would disapprove.

PS Congrats, Chad.

I just got back from my vacation with my girlfriend to Orlando, Florida and a visit with Hogwarts. Needless to say, she's as big of a fan with Harry Potter as I am with History, so this was quite a trip for both of us.

It got even bigger, when, in front of Hogwarts castle...

Nice!

Congratulations. Hope she said yes.
