Pardo followed up, saying he had to disagree with his boss.

Not a wise idea, disagreeing with your boss

they decided to omit it from their 2011 financial outlook.

I don't know much about the financial side of things with game companies but i would imagine that once figures have been released for a particular quarter, or indeed a year, a company wouldn't 'edit' or 'redo' the budget/forecast?

Big update in the Land of Diablo 3, with the announcement made that a Diablo 3 Media Event will be held on Wed. July 27th.
Amongst other things, the event will showcase the World's first look at the Beta, incl some game time.
Also some unannounced D3 news and BattleNet news.
The wait for this game is slowly but surely coming to an end.
The rumour has always been that once the Beta goes live, 6 months from the live date the game will launch.
And they are announcing Beta news at the event.

I've been on the list for some time, still waiting for that magical email to arrive. Disappointed that the Necromancer isn't in D3, that was my favorite character in D2. We'll see how the Witchdoctor pans out.....

Re the Necromancer, they may (may being the operative word) bring him in with an expansion. Who knows what Blizz has in store.
Certainly a lot will be released to the media when beta goes live.
