Part of the reason why the court case had to be done was if the government didn't do it, then the international courts get to have a go.
I think they will get off, they were under fire and responded without being excessive. Then enemy used human shields, which the troops didn't know were there.

As for the debate, what a waste! They should be the one in the dock, not the troops! If the opposition says we shouldn't be there, they should be in front of a firing squad by the end of the day! They were the ones who committed us to the war in the first place. As for the greens, they never visited the troops on the ground, so they have no right to protest!
