Stewart TORE APART that idiotic pledge. Showing it to be about as Bush Era as it gets.

But if we get back together, I pledge to you, I promise you, I will still try to **** your sister every chance I get. It's who I am, baby! It's who I am! Now, make up your mind, because I'm not going to ask you twice!

^^ LOL Ain't that the truth.

Somehow I'm just not surprised. Regardless of which party makes a "pledge", we can certainly count on promises not being kept.

There's only one party and that's the business/corporate party.

HR 5297 is a good bill. Small business lending has been stagnant, and anything that can help prime the pump to get credit flowing in the SBA space is money well spent. I don't have the chart in front of me, but SBA loan volume plummeted after the 90% guarantee expired a few months ago (SBA loans are normally 80% guaranteed by the SBA.) This bill will extend the 90% provision and increase max loan size.

Stop being so partisan and look at things more pragmatically.

So what you're saying is that just because just ONE Republican voted for a tax bill that means the RepublicanS broke their tax pledge?

You Democrats sure are sounding more and more desperate to deflect public attention from your upcoming November train wreck.

Thats exactly what is being said.

Walter Jones at that .. not exactly a 'staunch conservative'.

If conservatives do adhere to the tennants of this proposal it will be the liberals worst nightmare as it is exactly what a substantial proportion of the citizenship is looking for and directly contrary to the liberal agenda.

I guess the libs are saying "Hey were all for bigger goverment and higher taxes !!!"

I see this as a pre-emptive strike.

No, it says Republicans, except for one, failed to vote for tax cuts, except for one.

a bill containing $12 billion in tax cuts for small business... Rep. Walter Jones (R-N.C.) was the lone Republican to vote for the measure.

May I quote you the next time you make a generalization to make your point?

Well said! (Not implying that I endorse the bill or anything)
