Those offers really suck. I turned down a new sub 3 times in a row wanting to do a complete career in a S class and got retired. Silly.

Course I used my port save and took the new boat so I could go on...but peod that you can't complete a career in the boat of your choice.

They do that?! Crud I wanted to do a whole career in an S-boat too...

History is the answer, the Navy started retiring the S class boats in 1943. when the Gatos finally arrived in number. The Stock game has an end date for the S-18 at 1-1 1944 and the S-42 at 11-20-1945. Some were sent to other countries, used as training boats, coastal defense, or scrapped. The game mechanics seem to end your campaign if you do not have time to do a patrol before the boats were withdrawn.

If you want to keep an S boat try modding the interval date in the sub's upc file.
