Sorry for being demented and not remembering very accurate

I was just thinking that if this was some usual issue that I could get fast answer from the forum
One of the last things Sorlim did before he disappeared off the face of the planet was to compile a list of issues that could cause a ctd - and how to fix them.

It's a long shot , but something there might help you.

I bought SH5, DRM and all. I have had no problems connecting with the servers and the following statement is based on my personal experience with this "Simulation"

Silent Hunter 5 is going to be the "best" Submarine/U-Boat sim "ever". I base this prediction on (a) The base game/programming is pretty sound and the game stable (b) The amount and quality of the "Mods" released so-far (The sim on my machine is radically different from the original download, both graphically and AI wise). This situation has arisen solely from the dedication of a few very clever and IT savvy modders (You all know who you are). And I for one would to thank and congratulate all of you Guys for your unwavering belief in this great sim.

Thankyou

Okay. Little edit to stay within the rules

"My CTD seems to be a DRM issue or my router issue.
I did something "not recommended" to my installation and then everything works, but When I undo the changes to the original state, CTD happens every time when the loading is "final."

No difference if I have the DVD in drive or not

Yes, please read the rules.

Because it is logical and respected to respect the rules rather than confront reality.

Repeat after me : There Is No Problem. I Am The Problem.

And you are lucky we don't execute you. Some countries do for less.

Do not mess with reality. Follow the rules and the law.

Good heavens man, I should despise myself if I were capable of such remarks.

If one wishes to continue posting and downloading on Neal's dime, then yes, one must follow his rules.

I post here today but not without some difficulty. I am all for rules, discipline and structure, many times I need remind members. However, I find myself compelled to say it is possible and most probable with regard to my earlier post, there has become an instance of confusion. I thought fit to simply remark on (some) words Gilbou used. With dilligence and precision, I stepped aside from the rule part, as I do so cheerfully embrace. It is Impossible that I would even dare question rules as such conduct is unbecoming the character of a gentleman. For my part, I still hold proper, and remain to set out my original nit-pick and bring order to the use of "You Are Lucky We Dont Execute you" Is it my lot to witness such utterance? even whilst shielded by sounding the rules. Good Day

The reality for Subsim is that it holds a unique position in the gaming community. Neal doesn't withold criticism where it's due, but he does support the game manufacturers, and that includes not helping piracy in any form.

To that end he has rules. One of those is that we don't discuss piracy of any kind, or cracks, hacks or cheats in any form.

The reality for Subsim members is that this is not a public forum. It is privately owned, and therefore membership is subject to the wishes of the owner, and no-one else. It's not a democracy, nor a republic. It is private property, and we are all here at the kindness of the owner.

So yes, if you openly oppose the rules, you are indeed the problem. You can live with it, or your can oppose it and experience the consequences.

Edited my earlier post to stay within the rules

but the authentication issue is still there. Don't know why it originally worked alright when I bought it and installed it the first time. After official updates it stopped working right away or soon after that (can't remember exactly if it worked after update at all).

Has anyone had the same kind of issue?

Good thing I have the SH4 Collector's Edition and even better that I have SH3 + GWX

Incessantly whining about people whining is possibly more annoying than the whining you keep whining about. Demanding that people close threads you don't like, and now this demanding that people stop complaining about DRM. It's not gonna happen, and you SHOUTING about it all the time doesn't isn't going to change that.

If you don't like it, just don't read the threads.
Amen to that.

Cheers,

Krauter
