This is great when you've hit a juicy target and your shadowing at a distance, keeping station on the hydro, waiting for her to go down.

This is not so great when you realise that the big fat orange explosion you just witnessed was actually a neutral or a friendly, and you start the 50km dash to freedom before she sinks and you get (dis)credited with renown penalties.

Thanks for the info, Jimbuna. I'll haul off next time and use the external view for the eye candy. And it sure is sweet eye candy, thanks to all the extras in GWX and a few other mods. I have never encountered a game like this that adds so much life to a sim that is five years old or so. I have IL2 but really haven't done anything with it. Once I finish overhauling my desktop with some newly purchased parts I think I will invest some time above the waves.

TBH it would only be on the rarest of occasions you'd be able to sail 50+km from the victim....unless of course she took a few hours to sink.

All feedback is welcomed, especially that of a positive nature

I don't know how many times I have been deep in English waters, deck gunning merchants when all of a sudden someone spots a destroyer running flank speed to catch me in the act.

I think most there are shallow, man I understand your point,DD is sometimes very stupid they is not always as smart, as long as they do not come in groups, then we may have problems if it comes to shallow water otherwise, it is all well and good to go down quite deep
