Wear and tear on uboats?
I was glancing through some skins and was thinking... is there any way to make a mod that you know when you first start out its brand new paint and then by the time its a year or whatever its starts to rust on the rivets and such. i don't know if its possible or not to make such a mod but figure i'd through it out there....

I use Wolfehunters VIIb Bluecammo V1.2, which can be found on the d/l section. Makes your U-boat into a right rust bucket

If you have enough skins that you like you can use JSGME to load them at the proper times, or you can use SH3 Commander's Date function to have them change withour your say-so.
The only problem is that a boat usually starts the patrol fresh, and comes back dirty and rusty, and you can't really change skins in the middle of a patrol, so it's kind of useless.

well..... i downloaded all the fubar skins. like a few here and there. tried to install three or four of them at the same time and it didn't turn out like i thought it would. some worked and some didn't, because they were all installed in the same file. so files that were named the same overwritten the other ones. tried putting them in separate files, didn't work. tried renaming a few, didn't work. so my conclusion to this is i guess you cant have them all installed at the same time only for the skin you want on your sub. my reason behind this is that i wanted to have all the subs even the NPCs. so if i cruzed by one in harbor i could see it and when i finally get the d2 sub i wouldn't hae to worry about it. but its all good. my venture played out well. i just love the textures they have for the 9d2 in SH4 and it gave me that idea of wear and tear.

On your query above, you can only use one skin enabled in JSGME for each U-Boat as they just step all over each other if you enable them all. Also bear in mind that some skins share files for the Antenna, deck gun and flak guns, so in an example experienced by myself, you can be using a VII skin but because you enabled a IXB/C skin as well, you may get the above equipment from that skin as it overwrites the VII. Basically, your best bet is to only enable the skin you want for the uboat you are using, then swap them out when you upgrade subs.
