And I heard some b****** who calls himself "JSBalzU45" bought them all. Claims he picked them up at a "bazaar" of some sort while shopping for exotic tea cozies and hoochie woochie records. Guy sounds like a total loon if you ask me.

Yes, I am also sure I read that you should not upgrade your boat or crew at the return of a patrol because there is a bug in the game where it doesn't remember those things. Upgrade before starting a new patrol and you should be fine.

To fix your current problem, I recommend SHIII Commander. Since you earned the medals, it wouldn't be cheating to fix it like that. Just remember to fix it before starting the patrol.

I have never lost awards, but I have lost personnel...never to be seen again. Its always my high ranking officers. What I have learned is:

Never leave the high ranking (no sleep needed) officers in the damage control station. For some reason, when I leave him in damage control and return to port, he goes AWOL, and is never seen again.

Since I have started moving that officer to quarters prior to docking, he hasnt gone on a bender since. Just use good handcuffs when you restrict him to quarters...lol.

I think SH3 Commander fixes this problem (?) because a coupla patrols ago I'm sure I left my damage control team "on duty" and everybody was present and accounted for when I went through my personnel list for the next patrol.

I'm not sure about that either. I know the team themselves would not disappear but, the officer would. I think a work around was found by Jaesen Jones using SH3 Commander.

From the stickied Commander thread in the Mods Forum, first post, where he's running down the features of the newest version:

Quote:
No more MIA officers! Simply open the Crew Manager and any displaced officers (like the one you always leave in the Repair compartment ) will automatically be found and returned snugly to where they belong.

Ahhh, I haven't tried SH3 Commander yet. I try to keep it simple, to minimize crashes, but may load that up to minimize my predock checklist. Thanks frau.

Commander is a stand-alone program - it doesn't run alongside the game, just writes your selected options into the game before it launches the .exe file. And I don't think anything you do with it is going to make the game overload your system if that's what you're concerned about.

Plus it gives you so many added features, especially when it comes to crew and career management. I've gotten so I really enjoy finishing a patrol and then going into Commander and going over the log, looking at my crew and doling out medals and promotions and qualifications, while sitting here at my desk... makes me feel like a real ship's commander when I have to deal with the "paperwork" instead of just taking off on leave, lol.
