I guess it was a misunderstanding then. I thought your reply was supposed to mean that there is no global warming.

It's those kinds of misunderstandings that gets countries like Poland overrun!

So to recap:
The premise of this thread is that crocodiles are infesting German waterways. I just innocently comment that crocodiles would not survive a German winter. Skybird treats us to a lecture on global warming. I respond that regardless of all that it still isn't warm enough to support crocodiles and suddenly i'm a human cause global warming denier?

Meanwhile in a crocodile pen in a Broome crocodile farm...

I've been to both the Tavern and the Croc park there in Broome and all I can say is he's a lucky fella to escape both with his life.

He might, but I reckon he'd put the bite on you for a loan if you win.

Somehow reminds me of Monthy Python's classic "Tiger!"

Lovely. I already imagine a future headline in the Berliner Morgenpost: "Bathing women ripped to pieces by white shark in the Wannsee". Or "Mating season of Anacondas closed five open air baths in northern Germany". Or "Sewage disposal plants get special filters to prevent piranhas entering the public drinking water pipelines."
I thought I was soooo funnyyyh - but more and more the grim truth in Germany gets revealed:

http://www.bild.de/BILD/news/2010/07...anenteich.html

A tabloid, okay, but nevertheless. Piranhas found in a lake in the North-Eastern city of Rostock at the Baltic coast. Ironically, the lake is named Swan Lake.

One wonders: for how long anymore? Piranhas are swarm fishes, and where there is one, there must be more.

P.S. I swam repeatedly in the nearby Dortmund-Ems-Kanal in the past three weeks. I know by own experince that the water is not refreshing anymore , but is really damn hot. since last month has been found to be the warmest June sijnce the beginning of weather recordings, I can imagine well that a swarm of piranhas can live very well in German lakes and rivers currently. Maybe they will leave again when it gets too warm for them.
