Just sayin' that those two worked perfectly out of the box. There were some mods for SH1, but they didn't fix things - just made it better.

Can we start talking about Silent Hunter 12 now? I think it's time.
. . . . . Here's the reality. I very much doubt we will ever see a SH6...much less a 7.

Yes, it was really amazing how much immersion was experienced playing the Commodore 64 "Silent Service" by MicroProse back in late 1984 (my first computer game). Troop ships, tankers, merchants, and they used zig-zag tactics. The escorts patroled around the convoys and there were times when it took hours to evade them and survive the depth charges after sinking a few target ships.

![]() Hmm... if that's true why did you, yourself bother uploading patch 1.31 for Silent Hunter to the Subsim Downloads area? ![]() As far as Aces of the Deep's "perfection" the patch readme on the Subsim downloads page states.... When saving a game, the number of deck gun rounds remaining will be correctly saved. A gauge has been added showing amount of compressed air and water in the boat. Torpedoes were vanishing from the torpedo loading screen; this was fixed. The music for "Ride of the Valkyres" and "Tipperary" have been added. Crash on reporting contact bug fixed. Very few PC games have ever been perfect out of the box no matter how far back you go take those rose colored classes off Steve!
