Since the advent of the net, no game is perfect out of the box, some just come closer, I still think SH5 is on the way to being a gamn good dame given the modders once he initial bugs are fixed, mine plays fine on a single core but with the graphical explosion issues, that Ubisoft is even willing to address this issue for single core users when they certainly don't have to given the duo core min requirements is really to their credit, that other people have issues when they far exceed minimum specs is troubling, but still others play the game just fine, its the pitfall of designing a system to run with a gazillion different types of rigs/cpu/ram/driver/vcard/sound cards out there, and also given the also people who may be not so computer literate who don't know how even to update drivers, I'm sure there are more than a few who have issues and they could easily sort them out if they had some rudimentary knowledge. I've *itched about games before, I just realize now ONE its just a game, LIFE is more important, and EVENTUALLY the do get around to sorting out MOST the issues, and in the end, EVERYONE moves on to a new game, and all the time and effort spent on complaining about "this" or "that" game is kind of just wasted energy. Like everything in life, one must keep things in perspective.

You know, if anyone is going to be mad at someone for the problems with SH5, you should be mad at Ubi's administration/financial people, not the members of the actual development team. I think the devs did a pretty darn good job considering they are not the ones who decide release times. Plus give them a chance to get some patches out, is SHIII not version 1.4b.

Goodness so many posts - so little said!

Can any one provide a usable heads-up re when new patch release thats usful information the rest is waffle -

Seems modding has slowed down a tad till we have the new patch - which is when we can all get back into making the game what it could be

Just for the record - cant stand DRM - but living with it - Thought SH5 was crap - till I got it - discovered it was less crap than I thought, though not a patch on SH3 gameplay, but give it time - Rome wasnt built in a day!

But here's the thing people - it's improving every single day with new mods and tweaks - it is definatly worth sticking with - and in this it's no different than any other incarnation of this series

So good hunting to one and all

The latest word, of course from the German Ubi forums, is that the patch was pushed back till Monday or Tuesday of next week. Nothing else has been said by Ubisoft that I've seen.

There's also this little hint about other boats, but the Google translation is pretty crude, so I'll let our German speaking friends try to make sense of it.

WOW, originally intended boats. that sounds awesome. I took it to mean it would be in the next patch if it makes it, not this one. Is that what you got from it?

Man oh man, II or a IX, maybe both and a XXI. Heck give me a minelayer or even a tanker. I could have fun trying to refuel boats and not get my ass blown off. Of course it would be better in the later years.

Of course that is how you suck them into the ADD-ON.

Does anyone know if this will be simultaneously available for the Steam version of the game?

ArmaA2 held off on a patch for months before they put it on steam.

I hope UBIsoft doesn't pull the same thing.

Default Mad, NOPE!

I like the game as it is. There are some things that I personally would like to see, but in general, its good the way it is. That being said, the DRM issue seems to have had some advantages that I did not consider previously. I do not use any mods, and some Modders will most likely not want to provide some of the excellent mods out there too UBIsoft. However, there will most likely be some mods, that make it into a patch. This would be welcome, if the community supports it. For example, I do not particularly care for the bubbles over the crewmans head, to indicate he has something to say. This could be done in other ways. For example, Battle stations could be all RED interior lights (night could be one Red, one white, and alternating. Silent running could be blue. When the Watch Officer is ordered to Man the Deck Gun, he should face the captain, and stand at attention, each time the Captain approaches him, as if he is waiting for the order to secure the stations he controls, little things like that would be much better than the bubble heads, I think. Just thoughts for future patches.
