Well,
I got the Name wrong and how long it would take for a release.

But nice to see someone actually did something.

Regards Mate!

Hey guys,

Did you guys change anything else in the .zon files?

When I use this mod nothing gets damaged except the Radio Antenna.

When I turn it off I take all kinds of damage.

No mods conflict with the .zon files for subs so not sure how anything but this mod is making the change.

No other changes were made. I only added the controller for the damage decals. Are you loading up a saved game? I don't know if this is save game compat as I only tested in historical missions.

Nope testing in a single mission, one I uploaded earlier to test with.

Could be something on my end will keep trying and report of course.

Tried again 22:02 EST, same problem.

Did you test this underwater or get the damage above water from cannons?

Oh sorry. I forgot to mention I hadn't tested with DC's. I'm checking on that now. SH3/4 used controllers that in many instances don't work with the granny files and one of them is that damage displays on the sub based on damage taken. What I added was just a decal .. you take a direct hit .. you get a decal. Same as how the ships show damage where the torps hit. But dc's do splash damage same as bombs.

When the damage is repaired will they also consider those holes in my sub?
Restored to normal automatically with the repairs?

Well if i'm not mistaken these are hull damage holes.. you can't repair hull damage until back in port. Then the holes will be fixed.

Ahh yes I see, I can take damage above water np and it shows the damage decals. When I submerge I take no damage and see no decals.

Perhaps why the controllers we're left alone by the devs, it seems broken.

the devs left all the controllers in from both sh3 and sh4 .. but many don't work in sh5.

ditto. a more "streamlined" damage would be great, still this is better than the vanilla one.

Hi Wamphyri,

Report using various configurations while submerged:

Vanilla (no mods): take minor compartment damage, mainly hull integrity damage
Mods on (not including UVDM or FH2.0): Medium compartment damage, no hull integrity damage (pic below)
Mods on (including UVDM): no compartment damage, no hull integrity damage, minor damage to radio, radar and flak.
Mods on (including FH2.0): Full damage to compartments, minor hull integrity damage
Mods on (UVDM first installed, FH2.0 second): no compartment damage, no hull integrity damage, minor damage to radio, radar and flak.
Mods on (FH2.0 first installed, UVDM second): no compartment damage, no hull integrity damage, minor damage to radio, radar and flak.

Now I truly thought it was my mod effecting the damage outcomes when using UVDM. So thats why I sat trying to get it too work observing the various outcomes.

Something is off with the controllers for the decals, I am 90% sure. The only other factor I can think of which prevents total damage occurring submerged using UVDM is perhaps in my install I have edited a file I have not accounted for, nor remember editing. Would like to hear more opinions on this as I would hate for someone to do a full campaign only receiving damage to radars and deck guns.

Here is a pic of Mods on (not including UVDM or FH2.0):

So before all these mods are installed (stock) I get hull damage and minor compartment damage, very light... When these mods are installed w/o my FH or your UVDM I get no damage to the hull but serious flooding and compartment damage.

This may truly be a user only problem (me), but would like to know for sure.
