I dont like the torpedo impact sounds either,the old sound was better.You are right,it DOES sound like somebody has bumped into someone carrying a stack of dinner plates. "Excuse me captain,mind if I just get past you with these din... CRASH!" ...too late
 The other sounds are great though,I particularly like the subtle bubbling effects underwater,and the "alaaaaaaaaaaarm!" sequence is fantastic.
