While the ice-cream machine is historical, I think that having the ocasional and not informed visitor see it can actually cause the perverse effect of letting them think that the war in the pacific was a pleasure cruise for the submarine force. Which would not only be incorrect, but also unfair to those who sweated under the depth charges attacks or even perished for their land.

I hope there are somewhere around the proper information shields, so s to make people realize the true story

I miss being on the Lionfish. that was my favorite part of BB cove. I enjoyed going up to the bridge and imagining what it musta been like to be a captain in WWII....when I got home I bought SHIV

Cool pics! Glad to see the boat's in good shape. I visited Battleship Cove a few years ago, it left an impression. I had built a model of the Lionfish as a kid, so it was really cool to walk on the decks that I had painted by hand, in miniature. The cool part was the older gentleman who was sitting in the control room who had served on diesel boats. He was cool to listen to.
