misfit model 3d if you want something easy to use.
Blender if you want good functionality. Blender can do pretty much anything you can think of, but its GUI takes some time to get used to...

yes i just put blender in last night, and it is very neat, but it will take some time to get used to it. Especially since i'm new to this, but i LOVE skinning boats, I just can't help it. It's like making a model when ur a kid except this model gets to blow stuff up. This game has become my new vice, and skinning is my vice within a vice.

Misfit is excellent. Agree re Blender.G Max is a good one, can do a lot with it. I have a list of tutorials for Blender i will dig out. Am at work at the mo.
