My problem (sorry if a dupe)

I moved the file, than it didn't like other files, I moved those, and NOW it says it can't update because it doesn't have the files it didn't want!!!

If you downloaded off of Steam, it should be the 1.4 version and no need to apply the patch. What does your title screen say?

I now see down in the far right corner a little "1.4"

Don't worry kamerad, you're wasting nobodys time. The nice thign about forums is that you're answered by a person that allready has too much time on his hands and doing nothing constructive like patroling the north atlantic

Another option is to right click (properties) on the sh3.exe in C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\SilentHunterIII.

Look at the version tab. It will display 1.4.0.1
