My problem (sorry if a dupe)
 

Well, I decided after a long while to play SH3, again. I couldn't find my disc, so I got a new version via Steam. I installed it, than tried to patch to 1.4 and I got this message:

This program cannot update the installed version of Silent Hunter III US Download v1.0 to v1.3 because of the following reason:

c:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\silent hunter 3\Menu\de_menu.txt: unknown version

Anyone know how I could possibly fix this? :D

hi i got that error before just move it or delete the file because the update will give you new ones also an en file.= english and de=german.

I moved the file, than it didn't like other files, I moved those, and NOW it says it can't update because it doesn't have the files it didn't want!!!

If you downloaded off of Steam, it should be the 1.4 version and no need to apply the patch. What does your title screen say?

I now see down in the far right corner a little "1.4" :damn:

Where is the tar and all them feathers when you need them for his location: CA45 ?

Another option is to right click (properties) on the sh3.exe in C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\SilentHunterIII.

Look at the version tab. It will display 1.4.0.1 :03:
