Anyone who thinks working on a cruise ship is a paid vacation is in for a rude surprise.

The guy was a guest entertainer. He WAS a paid passenger. Seriously, couples hours of work a week, great pay, access to passenger areas and restaurants. Woe is him.

Compare to the actual crew, who make an average of about 1000$ a month, work about 80 hours a week and aren't allowed in passengers area unless they're working. Also, some of them get to clean the gray water holding tank - Trust me, it's worst than you'd think.

One thing he's spot on, tho, is the usual crew reaction to guest entertainers. There's a reason for that. The article itself is a good example.
