Weather Change at 1x

Last night I was approaching the Shetland Islands but I was tired so I figured the boys would be okay. Therefore, for the heck of it, I went to bed and left the game running at 1x. The weather was perfect with light fog.

I get up this morning....heavy fog, raining, wind speed at 7 m/s. Most often I only see the immidiate weather change when coming out of TC, but this happened at 1x. Except I didn't get to see it.

Any of you guys ever see an extreme weather change, or any weather change at all at 1x in the game? How does it develop? I'm irked I didn't get to see this....I'm thinking it might have been kinda cool to watch.:hmm:
