Gameplay problem: automatic time compression in open sea

I think an easy solution would be able to get out of travel speed / compressed time manually with a button.

I'd also like to see a clear indication of what time compression you're currently in. Since the clock doesn't do seconds it makes it quite difficult to understand what the time increase is.
