Even when I placed my sub in the exact position from the tutorial I got a different calculation, something like 100 -200km away and my initial altitude figure was way off.
The problem is when I try and get the initial altitude of the sun. In that tutorial in pics 3-4 you say to align the sextant to the water line and then search for the sun but the numbers in the altitude readout don't change for me. The only way to get them to change is to press Set Reference Azimuth, then when I do that the numbers change as i move around but the final number is not what its supposed to be.
So I tried different ways to use it to get that number but it's in the Set Ref Azimuth that the problem lies.

I hope I didn't come off as being too critical, the sextant tutorial is extremely valuable but I could never get a correct reading from the sextant. I'm sorry, i would have posted pics if I were at home.
