The lock ups could be related to your drivers. Is the resolution that you're trying to configure your native monitor resolution? Are you using Nvidia or ATI?

I'm wondering if a driver setting, like in Nvidia Control Panel may help.

This issue was solved It was me being a dunderhead not realizing the folder contained multiple mods where I needed to pick the one(s) I needed.
