SOLVED. Magui woes
SOLVED:
Don't be me... my mistakes were several: 1) I assumed at first the folder was just to get into the mods folder.... wrong. In the main folder there were several mods. Pick the one you need. I did that and I no longer had the lock-up. 2) Because it didn't work at first I stuck with the other WS mod. That screwed it up. The fix took care of everything WS wise. 3) Because of the lock-ups, I tested in windows mode. When it no longer locked up, I switched to full screen, no other WS mod and now it is working. YAY. First, here's the setup: SH3 patched up + GWX Gold. Windows 8.1 64 bit Resolution unpatched: 1024x800 Resolution patched with Conus' SH3GWXWS 2.3: 1366x768 Other mods: None (see below) Versions of Magui tested: The Magui Mod (Final), Widescreen Magui v3.4 + TMT v2 (GWX3 version). Realism: Manual Target System CHECKED. No Weapon Officer UNCHECKED I have now tried to get Magui to work through JSGME, with and without Conus' WS mod installed in turn both before and after Magui, but to no avail. Everything stays stock. I am trying to read through the pages but right now I am stumped. Any insight why this mod won't work? |
Don't know how much this will help, but this is one of my mod soups for SH3 with GWX and Magui:
I also had to set it to run in compatibility mode for WinXP SP2. |
Also forgot that there's another widescreen mod you can look at... Ahnenerbe's Wide Screen Mod. Compatibility may be an issue... I haven't tried it with GWX.

Thanks bunch for the inputs. As for the other WS mod, I have confirmed on this end it doesn't work. Most likely because it doesn't support 1366x768.
Looking through your mod list and found the Magui fix. I forgot to install the WS mod though, ended up with a complete lock-up where I needed to hit the power button. Gonna try it again only this time with the WS mod... Go me, eh? UPDATE: If I choose no WS mod OR install it prior to the fix, then I get a lock-up. If I install the WS mod after the fix, it all stays stock. No luck. EDIT: Lock-up gives the error Menu ID not found: 0x3f010022! |
Sounds like they (the mods) aren't mixing correctly. Something is overwriting menu....txt, and maybe not updating dials or some other config file that has a reference to it.
The lock ups could be related to your drivers. Is the resolution that you're trying to configure your native monitor resolution? Are you using Nvidia or ATI? I'm wondering if a driver setting, like in Nvidia Control Panel may help. |
