They are all .wav files, which is the same used by SH4 for all but 'Speech' files. In your SH4/Data/Sound folder you'll find files like Submarine_DiveAlarm_INT, Submarine_CrashDive_INT, Submarine_GQ_battle_stations_INT, and Submarine_Surface_INT. I think it is not so easy. The files must have a duration; not all sound files can be used in the "sound" folder. Some sounds with long durations produce CTDs when called by the game. This is a known problem with alternative sounds.
