Shark takes woman in New South Wales

How terribly tragic

A woman has been killed by a shark while swimming off a popular beach in Australia's New South Wales.

Christine Armstrong, 63, was swimming between the wharf and the beach in Tathra village when she was attacked.

Police said her husband saw the shape of a shark which looked between three and four metres long, reports said.

Not sure how far this is from TarJaks place of abode but a website for the beach states it is a protected area.

Tathra Beach is located east of Bega and is a protected beach for surf and board riding. Below the waters, diving, snorkelling and fishing possibilities are endless. Fur seals and Fairy penguins from the colony at Montague Island often frequent the waters and are willing to let you be a part of their underwater world.
