After one week enroute to DH44 U-124 encountered a twenty-ship, heavily escorted convoy breaking out of Gib at CG42. Sunk two and have almost a complete load of fuel and torpedos, however the escorts are hammering a brutal beating with deadly accuracy.

Currently surfaced performing major repairs and loading deck torpedos; targets are now just beyond visual range, course steady at 5 kts. The Chief reports flooding contained and repairs underway. You are my Executive Officer.

11th patrol with a decorated and seasoned, yet tired crew. December, 1941. D.I.D. and 100%.
