Rock salt!
We got our icy weather a few weeks ago. They don't do anything here, so I went out and bought a 40 lbs bag of poor man's de-icer and took care of the problem myself.

On the local show, I thought it was funny to listen to people's reasons why they won't use rock salt. Seattle, learned their lesson and used RS this year. Portland, well.... we're run by morons. ...and that's why I don't live in Portland.
