Multiple GWX careers?

Did SH2 or SH3 vanilla allow you to slip through the Straits of Gibraltar and wreak havoc in the Med...without a flotilla change? I have this distant recollection of being able to slip into the Med...or maybe I'm just getting old

...I remember a few patrols trying to prevent resupply convoys from reaching Malta? Anywho...

I'm wondering what would be involved in running 2 seperate GWX3 campaigns? Obviously SH3 Commander and JSGME would require entries before starting SH3, depending on if I wanted to play my saved Atlantic theater campaign or a Med campaign?

Anybody running 2 campaigns in seperate theaters with GWX? If so, how are you going about it?
