Here is the rough progression of the Grey Wolves mods that lead to version 3.0.

TGW (The Grey Wolves) - This ran to Version 1.1a

This lead to:

GWX 1.0 (Grey Wolves Expansion) - This ran to version 1.03.

This lead to:

GWX 2.0 + Fixes

And now GWX Gold (Version 3.0).

So, to answer your question, Yes version 1.03 is actually outdated at the moment. You are not missing anything by having the latest version as each version has added to the previous.
