The Grey Wolf Mod and its versions / Mods in general
Hello there,
ah taking a deep breath of this diesel stink, sweat and... stress... - nice to be back and in move again after years of playing SHII followed by years in the harbour... Got SHIII now and had my first run on yesterday, made the academy and sunk two frighters in the first mission. Nothing unlearned - but could be better. Well, I tried to get an overview about all these nice mods for SHIII and the Grey Wolf Mod seems to be worthy to install, but I'm irritated in two different versions: The Grey Wolf Supermod 1.3 http://alexbret.perso.cegetel.net/in...lves_eXpansion http://www.marinesims.de/site/the-gr...upermod-2.html and The GWX2.1 and the announced update to 3.0 http://www.thegreywolves.com/ Is the 1.3 version an outdated one or just a total different mod? Any other recomended or must-have mods? Cheers, von Luckner |
GWX 2.1 is the latest, but the release of 3.0 is immiment, so may want to hold off. :hmm:

Welcome to Subsim.
Here is the rough progression of the Grey Wolves mods that lead to version 3.0. TGW (The Grey Wolves) - This ran to Version 1.1a This lead to: GWX 1.0 (Grey Wolves Expansion) - This ran to version 1.03. This lead to: GWX 2.0 + Fixes And now GWX Gold (Version 3.0). So, to answer your question, Yes version 1.03 is actually outdated at the moment. You are not missing anything by having the latest version as each version has added to the previous. Hope it helps. |
Hello, this might be a silly question but i cant seem to find answer. I downloaded gwx2.1. I remember that in previous version i had an open hatch in one submarine and the free camera on deck. But now with the latest i cant find any open hatch submarines and the free camera is ingame stock F2 freecamera that is only available in command room.
I could not find any info in gwx manual |
Hi!
You could also try some of other supermods like: NYGM, WAC or LSH. greetings Han |

One of those is the Open hatch mod you speak of. JSGME Generic Mod Enabler will allow you to "activate" whichever extra mods/addon's you have with GWX2.1. Simply start it up - assuming you have it installed - and on the left hand side, click to highlight a mod you want. Then click the arrow > in the center of the display to move it to the right hand side. This may take a moment to activate, depending on size of mod AND JSGME may let you know if there are any problems/conflicts etc. After that, start GWX2.1/Sh3 and enjoy. As an extra bonus, which I can't live without is SH3 Commander, it adds extra options (which you can activate at your leisure) like: vary crush depth use real ship names in reports deep career mode with records, etc. Hope that helps, |
Thank you. I swear that i dont have open hatch mod in JSGME. I dont know why. I downloaded the latest 2.1 gwx from torrent and it has bunch of mods u can activate in jsgme but open hatch in not there.
I downloaded the mod seperately and putted it into mods category. Now it works. Thanks. EDIT: Ok just discovered. I have GWX2.0 version. I thought it was GWX2.1 cause i downloaded from GWX2.1 torrent. Any quick easy way to update from 2.0 to 2.1 ???? |
The 2.1 upgrade is a single exe file
Not that big in size and goes over 2.0 http://www.thegreywolves.com/Links.htm |

Thanks guys.
Hm, I will go for JSGME, SH3 Commander and GWX but I'll wait a bit and try the stock version for now. Anyway, I shouldn't tell anybody but I had prepared my eels with best vasline all day, made them ready to run this evening... (c: |
