Default Boats Collide Head On

Clear sky, looks like unlimited visibility, and these two rather large boats collide head-on.

I'm not a ship captain so I don't know all the rules. Who's fault was it?

Looks like a case of not paying attention or too many "macho" captains not wanting to alter course.

That crunch sound is one sickening sound!

I think the boat off the starboard bow was at fault. I think you're suppose to go starboard-to-starboard when passing by.

I pretty sure that it is starboard to starboard.

You are supposed to go starboard in case of a head-on collision

I read once that you are supposed to yield to boats approaching from starboard, which would put the boat the camera is on at fault.

But somethings strange about this. Nither boat seems to see each other? Seems as if there was enought time to turn and miss. guess someone fell asleep at the wheel.

Its happend with ships and sailboats to. http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=792_1182160475

IMHO the rammed boat had right of way, as it was on the starboard bow of the other.

Btw, did someone make out the Flag?
Could be a lot of things, from egyptian over dutch to croatian.

It looks like a dutch Flag but now that I see that there is a small blury symbol going down the middle of the white line.

I don't think it's Dutch since it is quite visible that there is something in the middle (Much like the Croatian ensign), while the Dutch ensign does not

The colors seem very similar to the Croatian ensign as well

EDIT: Could actually be Paraguay

If one or both boats had an autopilot that may be why they hit. Either way, that don't look fun. Maybe they had an autopilot using Silent Hunter's AI!
