Default Obama sued.

http://www.americasright.com/2008/08...a-federal.html
Quote:
A prominent Philadelphia attorney and Hillary Clinton supporter filed suit this afternoon in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Illinois Sen. Barack Obama, the Democratic National Committee and the Federal Election Commission. The action seeks an injunction preventing the senator from continuing his candidacy and a court order enjoining the DNC from nominating him next week, all on grounds that Sen. Obama is constitutionally ineligible to run for and hold the office of President of the United States.

Phillip Berg, the filing attorney, is a former gubernatorial and senatorial candidate, former chair of the Democratic Party in Montgomery (PA) County, former member of the Democratic State Committee, and former Deputy Attorney General of Pennsylvania. According to Berg, he filed the suit--just days before the DNC is to hold its nominating convention in Denver--for the health of the Democratic Party.

Indeed. Sounds like sour grapes to me.

Reading the article, Berg has a lot of burden of proof on forgery and actual country Obama was born. Then again, he must have some overwhelming evidence to file a suit. I'm still believe that there is more to Obama's story then what were are forced fed by the media darling.

Probably not, given America's political system. I'm often left astounded at how easy it is to press charges against someone in America. Remember that you don't even need to WIN the court case to totally ruin someone either. The financial exhaustion of just defending one's self in court can often do a majority of the damage.

Eek. Sour grapes ahoy.

About backgrounds, everything goes under a microscope when someone is running for President. It's all there if you want to know about it. Waiting for the mass media to tell you won't work.

Agreed! Place that "shadow of a doubt" is all that is need.

Seems to me the Democratic party should have (or did they and we don't know it) looked into this long before now.

I'm thinking that it might be a way to prevent the GoP from using it. After all if the idea already has been rejected by the courts it will be hard to make it stick.

Well, reading the above it is no surprise that Billary Clinton did not cede her campaign and just put it on hold.

My thoughts too.

Hillary may be behind it.

It's going to get rather complicated since they're talking about citizenship laws at the time of his birth and since both of his parents were not citizens. I don't see it being solved overnight unless the "experts" Berg is referring to are total crackpots.

One thought, though. Does Congress have the power to grant citizenship to someone who otherwise does not qualify?

They have the ability to grant citizenship to anyone but to make an exception to the Presidential qualifications they'd have to change the constitution.

ThanksI don't see that happening before November, so I guess they can't solve the problem that way:rotfl:
