Default CTD that keeps recurring

Just left Midway on Dec. 19, 1942. The mission objective is photo recon in the Palau Is. By the 24th of December, I'm southeast of Wake about 500 miles, and all three times the CTD happenned, was around 16:00 hrs, and the info says it's a Sound act fault causing this.

I have version 1.5 with

TMO
The Radio mods
Sobers sand, rocks and mountains
Enviornmental 4.6
Row sound effect v 9
And assorted subskins from Fubar for each class, except those that use the same parts

Any ideas as to what's causing this? Oh yes, I finally got a refit with the AA gun having the cut doen sides, and periscope sheers. If I remember the correct info from the refit screen.

I do not have the radio on when this happens.

Thanks in advance.

Try the easy thing first. Defrag your hard drive. SH4 really fragments heavy on my system (especially when working with/testing mods).

I've had a defrag fix some SH4 "misbehavior" in the past :hmm:.

Happy Hunting!

Then, go to port and remove all mods except TMO. If all is ok, add them back one at a time over time.

Thanks Mush. Due to the dry climate here in Denver, dust is a royal pain, so I use a lot of canned air every saturday morning. It's the only way to keep the dust under control.

I'll also try removing all the little add ons and go from there too.

Thanks for the ideas guys!

If the CTD is happening on the same date and time every time, it's an error in your Radio mods. Either sift through every events.ini file for every radio mod by hand looking for media files that are missing, or get the Radio Station Manager (link in my sig) and run a "Prepare for saved patrol". It will check all your events for you and let you correct any errors found. It will stop the "repeat events" problem when you are loading a mid-patrol saved game.

DT is correct here. The Radio mod is probably your culprit. Remove it and see how it goes.

Yep, removed radio mod, and changed the course of ingress from the south side of the Marianas, to the north heading 270 degrees from Midway. Got passed the CTD date, and am sitting in a deep lagoon off the Palau Islands waiting for dusk to make my move. There are two DD's patroling the entrance to the harbor, and 3 or 4 subchasers patroling just outside the reef, and a ring of DD's, and subchasers about 20 to 25 miles further out. So stealth is the key to a success on this one.

DT, I have the radio manager, but I've been lazy about installing it, as I'm almost done with my boat,

hope the pics take.

The pic in the driveway is before painting started, the blue is the base coat, and I'm adding a white trim line around the top edge and a white waterline, and bronze bottom.

Main problem with her is she was used well for 42 years, and I'm the 5th owner, and the only one to do anything like this to her, but after 2 1/2 seasons of fishing she deserved a refit, and some sorely needed TLC, so I guess I was the most qualified to do it. But it was quite the undertaking, as I've sunk close to 3,000 rivets into her, and about 12k most of it for the new Evinrude E-Tech 40hp outboard though. The refit for what I had to do was really quite inexpensive when you figure everything that I needed to get.

How many depth charges does it carry

Actually, the windshield ledge I had to build custom makes her look a little like a Higgins boat, and when she was in the gray primer, I thought a couple fish, and some ash cans would have been appropriate. The ash cans would make fishing easier

Really though, the main problem is the idiots who pay no attention to the "NO WAKE" bouys, as the no wake zone I fish in is about 150 yards wide to the shore, why, there are stumps all over the area, even where it's 10 to 15 ft deep, there are some a couple inches below the surface, and a couple jet-skis and a nice Crestliner runabout had bad run ins at 25 to 40 knots. The jetskis were a mess, but the boater got back to dock and watched his boat sink while they were getting the trailer.

There are even maps of the lake at the boat launch, with the regulations of the lake right there too, but most folks don't even look at them, or pay any attention to them.

Virtual waters are fine during the winter months while the lakes are frozen over, but there's nothing better than bein' on the water, especially when the girlfriend likes it too.
