Alacrity Services Cordinator (Better FPS)

This is a handy little program that closes EVERY unessasary (including explorer and your desktop wallpaper!) service whenever you start it. Takes a little while to get set up (5-10 mins). It also has a ram optimizer it runs, moving all the necessary services it leaves running to the front of your ram then allows your game to fill up the remaining RAM. IT original started as FSAutloader, but has been changed to work with any game.

If anyone has problems I'll be glad to help

:rotfl:

I started to download it and then realized I already have it. I've probably looked at the icon more than once and said "I wonder what that one does?"

Very Good Program, I use it with almost all my games especially any simulator. Only problem I've had is that it will occasionally fail to properly restore my desktop/explorer theme (Windowblinds) but even that just has to be unloaded and reloaded.

i assume this progarm has be runnin all the time for it to work? ive noticed on the task manager that it uses up a fair amount of memory on its own., actually a fair bit more than some of the programs it closed down.

...ain't that a sure nuff,real life catch-22...

The best program of this kind I have found comes with the BoB Development Group's supermod for Battle of Britain Wings of Victory.

With one click...(no setup required)...it shuts down every nonessential service....uses very litle memory itself...and automatically restores the services next time you boot up. You run it before you boot up whatever game you intend to play.

The downsides are you have to keep BOB installed on your HD whether or not you play it and it only works with XP not Vista...so I had to leave it behind.

I got this program when I read your post the first time. Works great. Completely remove the slight jerkiness I've always had since 1.4, and my other end program Enditall didn't do that. Recommended.

A strange term to use, considering the circumstances. XP still beats Vista in every benchmark but one that I've seen. My copy of Vista continues to age until the release of whatever comes next. It looks like never having been installed, I'll have to donate it to the same museum featuring Windows ME, the Apple III, the Cadillac 2-4-8 engine and the dot matrix printer.:rotfl:

Yes you can use it for any game. It simply runs through all the XP services and shuts down every one that is not needed for gaming. You don't even need to tell it which ones. Takes about 60 seconds. Then, as I said, when you reboot your system all services are restored....which for me was a winner...'cause I do like to print and copy to disk ect..ect...ect...from time to time.

I used it for a long time and never had a problem with it.I imagine that it wouldn't be much of a problem to extract from the mod. I never bothered because I play BoB from time to time. It is freeware. The BoB Development Group were not even sure where it came from...or so they told me. They think someone on the team wrote it back when XP came out and eveyone was having fits about all those unneeded services.

Anyway, it is a nice and handy hassel free program. I asked them to write one for Vista but like a lot of others they want to remain back in the "good ole days." (at least for now...I can still recall all the howls about remaining with Windows 98 when Windows Millennium and then XP appeared... ) Then again, I don't really need it.... Vista Ultimate doesn't seem to bog down no matter the load or overhead.

so all u do is load up bob then exit the game and all the unneeded services wont start up again until u reboot? i thought the services would restart when bob was closed down.
