Default 112,000 GRT No Ritterkreuz???

Greetings fellow kaleuns

Have successfully completed my 6th patrol (106 days) at sea total for 26 ships sunk for 112,000 tons i have been awarded iron cross 1st and second class and uboat war badge ,

My question is Where is my Ritterkreuz (Knights cross) am playing GWX 2.0 with shcmdr 3.0, August 1941.

Also i would like to know if the scripted radio messages for Gwx has messages from bdu congratulating its captains that based on their reports while at sea , they had been awarded Knights crosses as was the case IRL.

Bitterly dissapointed to have reached 100,000 tons and not even be awarded the Knights cross Has anyone else had this problem???

Cheers

Wow a 106-day patrol? You probably did get the cross but your crew stole it.

Welcome aboard...

I believe that awards are doled out on the basis of how much renown you currently have. It also depends on the scale of realism that you're playing. Each ship that you sink is worth a certain number of points. If you're playing at less than 100% realism then you'll only get a percentage of those points; ie. something like 60% of a 240 point ship if your realism is set to 60%.

I should add that the game is really in bestowing awards. I had a career recently where I was out on patrol & I'd been awarded the EKII (Iron Cross 2nd class), U-Boat War Badge & U-Boat Front Clasp. When I returned to port I found that I'd just been given the German Cross in Gold. I skipped over the EKI (Iron Cross 1st class) and had to wait until the end of the next patrol (return to port) to receive that medal.

I've never seen any messages in GWX 2.1 notifying the player that they'd won any award. I don't send reports, as per the GWX manual, as it may give away your current position.

Hope that this helps...

Hey there

Thanks for the post above, i now understand how the award system works and yes i am playing at only 89% realism ,so i wont be getting all of the points per sinking as you mentioned, also i have sunk a handful of neutrals which may have an impact on the points i guess.

Thanks again.

Steffan.

Oh, oh. Sinking neutrals is frowned on by BDU.

I don't know how up to date it is but there's a GWX renown .pdf file available at http://hosted.filefront.com/jimbuna . You may find it useful.

Sounds like his problem is he's been a little too agressive. Maybe we should make a new message: "Read the *#)$&@ flags!":rotfl:

Yup. Sinking neutrals will delay the award of the RK to the player.

That is very old now and no longer valid for the latest version of GWX.

Do you (or anyone else) know what the current renown values are? The GWX manual has an entry explaining the removal of the patrol renown, but I can't find a listing of the ship renown. That'd be handy to know!

Go to:

C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\GWX2.1\data\Sea

Inside you will find a folder for every ship/sub/dock.....each will contain a CFG file within.

Click on the CFG file to open it and you will see a line near the bottom of the first group of information 'RenownAwarded'
