Yep, nice find indeed.

Though it sounds a little bit like a mixture of a desperate rallying call and some proud song.
If they have had such songs during WW2, they could have used it to keep up the courage amongst the civil sailors. Which is a bit cynic as they knew that they would propably die out there.

You mean the video when you say propaganda right?
Serious speaking I don't believe it is propaganda, without merchant shipping, Europe would starve. These people were not soldiers, but many of them gave their lifes and their efforts should be respected.

But what I always hate is this &°#!(§$ speaker of those old movies.
He talks like this is all a funny and happy adventure. And while knowing that this is intended like this, I totally hate it.

I meant the lyrics specifically but please be sure to notice the big fat wink, I was firmly in my role as kaleun

no disrespect intended whatsoever, my country (netherlands) lost a lot of brave men to the Uboats too. hats off to the merchant navy.

pretty much the same footage but not with the blaring propaganda fanfare this time, it sure shuts me up
