A few years ago i was in the Kruger park( game reserve) and heard a story about one of the game wardens who was out by one of the rivers there, a crocodile lauched itself at him and although he fought it dragged him underwater(they often drown their victims).he managed to hold his breath and keep his wits about him , when it dragged him into its lair. (An underwater tunnel to a hollowed out"cave" above the waterline.)There amongst the rotting corpses and fetid air he regained his strength , drew his knife and in the darkness launched himself at this croc. They fought, where he had assumed he wounded it badly , and managed to get out the tunnel, and to the surface, he needed many stitches and surgery, but i do think it is one of the most horrific scenarios and story of bravery i have heard.

I would rather not imagine what that underwater lair smelled like.

That is one lucky man.

Well, we fired our cannon til the barrel melted down,
so we grabbed an alligator and we fought another round.
We filled his head with cannon balls and powdered his behind,
and when they tetched the powder off, the gator lost his mind.
