Default Finally success!!!!!

Greetings fellow kaleuns

I would like to take this opportunity to thank those who guided me in the right direction to being able to play this AWESOME game fully patched with Gwx 2.0 and 1.4b .

I adhered to your tips by fully uninstalling sh3 deleting the my document files ect , but what i also did was found a program called revo uninstaller (highly recomend if anyone else was having troubles installing this game and patching ) and completely removed any traces of sh3 that the windows installshield doesnt remove this programme delved deep into my registry and showed me not only where these files were but what files they were and the option to remove them.

So once i had completely removed sh3 i followed your steps and reinstalled stock sh3 then i could patch to 1.4b without any errors with unknown files.
I also ran the game once but didnt play it before i installed Gwx 2.0 (dont know if that made any difference but i remembered rerading about it somewhere here)
I then restarted pc and opened the game got the cool Gwx2.0 logo then intro (albeit sound comes and goes on the intro) then the splash screen well i thought it hadnt worked as it took a while for the main menu to come up but when it did i gave a big YEAH!!!! .

I was totally blown away by the historical footage on the main menu screen i must have watched it through like 5 times, i then went to career ect and started a new career i was anxious to see by this stage if i could play the game so when i went to start game i also had a long wait prob a few minutes before it loaded (is this normal?)

My word the wait was worth it, how cool to see the different changes made to this game not only internally but externally also .I set ahead standard and proceeded out of the port of kiel ,i was just taking it all in from the bridge looking around seeing all the different ships in port i even saw a fleet cruiser parked up and she was BIG!!! i was escorted out by a small patrol boat that was cool but seeing life breathed into the port was so surreal.

So once again i would like to thank all those involved with helping me be able to see this i just have to upgrade my graphics card to be able to see it how it was designed to be seen , but also to the GWX dev team it is truely i gift you guys have to be able to do what you do and for us to enjoy your talents I SALUTE YOU !!!!

PS i havent as yet installed sh3 commander im a bit dubious to do so as i dont want to go back to scratch with havn probs now i have this game working.
Also if anyone has any ideas about what mods they recommend to use that come with GWX 2.0 would be much appreciated.

Thanks so very much

Steffan

You are ok with what you have. Herr Kaleun. Now go out and sink them all

However ,I recommend you do a couple of patrols around the harbour, this will improve your crew and give you a few specialites that will help you survive.

Visit my kielman website and read strategies for survival. You may find some other useful articles there

SH3 Commander is well worth it and you can install it on top when you feel like it, don't forget the GWX special files for SH3Cmdr as well. You might, and afaik probably would, have to start a new career though.

I think most people would recommend SH3 Commander.

My question is, whom who might have used it would not recommend it?

SH3 CMDR appears overwhelming because it can do so much. I suggest you just install it and use it. You will find it is easy to use and as you become more proficient in using it, you will see the impressive addition it makes to the game. It easily doubles or triples the enjoyment of SHIII.
"Don't leave home (port) without it."
If only we has something like it in SHIV.

Right now the ultimate game imo is SH3/GWX/SH3 Commander/OLC GUI and most importantly, behave in the game like you are there. Play dead = dead. Make decisions like the fate of the Reich and the fate of your crew depend on it. Dim the lights, open a solid German Ale and "be there".

Nothing matches it.

Of course. When submerged. Ale is for running on the surface
