Brag you misunderstand me my friend. I only wish that the legend that is Balz live on to inspire a new generation T'would be a catastrophy of the highest order should his regular reports stop. Suddenly.

His desk could always wind up on a small coal tender or something floating in the middle of Der Kanal?

J.S. Balz writes:

Nealt,

Your concern for having a desk in an interesting location is quite touching. You trully understand the principles and philosophy of hoochie woochie.

Hehe, Steed. I'm polishing a work that includes a U-Boot in 1945.

If you're writing a book about U-boats then stop telling us about how many copies of Kingmaker there are! Kingmaker is gone, long live the currently untitled U-boat book.

So.. this thread isn't about "World Of Warcraft" 2 copies of Kingmaker available ?

Yeah.. this is the first thing I thought when I saw the title of this thread. It just goes to show you where my head is at most of the time.

btw.. Fun Fact: Kingmaker is also an AWESOME old Avalon Hill wargame !

But Brag's book isn't based on it. *fades into lurking mode again*

Officers and Gentelmen-- First Signed Copy of Kingmaker

Yesterday I received a phone call and the caller's last words were, "Don't forget the book."

I changed clothes, then took a copy of Kingmaker and wrote: To my friend and former enemy General Oleg Kalugin and signed it. Shortly after, I headed for the unexpected lunch appointment with the former KGB chief of counterintelligence.

Sounds like something out of a spy novel?

Years ago, the good general was somewhat upset over my activities and tried to nail me. A vase with four roses placed on a window sill signaled extreme danger and I managed to escape. Now, with the Cold War over, we are the best of friends. Kalugin has updated his memoir, Spy Master and it will be re-issued shortly. During lunch he asked me to be with him at the offical launching of his book at the International Spy Museum in Washington.
